● What Is A Brand Interpretation Assessment?
Brand Interpretation Assessment (BIA)
The Brand Interpretation Assessment is a directional, signed Interpreter Map: how humans and machines interpret your brand today, where that interpretation has drifted from your intent, which gaps are doing the most damage to growth, and what to fix first.
TILTD has a standing rule: we never sell strategy without seeing the network first. The BIA is how we see it, and how most leadership teams see their own network for the first time.

Brand Interpretation Assessment
What the report shows you
- How top LLMs describe your brand today. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity: what they say you do, what they say you charge, who they say you serve, and who they place next to you.
- Where interpretation has drifted from intent. The gap between what leadership means and what the network, human and machine, is producing.
- Which gaps are damaging growth most. Not every misreading matters. The report separates noise from the gaps that lengthen sales cycles, narrow talent pipelines, and discount valuations.
- What to fix first. A prioritized starting order, so the first dollar of correction goes where it moves the needle.
Brand Interpretation Assessment
What we assess
Every interpreter in your network gets evaluated on five criteria: authority, alignment, control, velocity, and reach. The network’s output is then scored through the ACES diagnostic:
| Dimension | The question it answers | |
| Authority | Does this interpreter recognize the organization as a distinct entity and surface it unprompted? | |
| Context | Does this interpreter place the organization in the right competitive frame? | |
| Expertise | Does this interpreter associate the organization with the right problems and capabilities? | |
| Stability | Can the interpreter easily scan, read, and digest the information on your website? | |
The scoring surfaces your danger zones: interpreters with high authority, low alignment, and low control. Those are the voices shaping your market’s understanding that nobody at your company manages.
Brand Interpretation Assessment
How it works
- Request. Organization, work email, role. That is all we need; the assessment reads your network from the outside, the way buyers and machines do.
- We run the assessment. TILTD maps the interpreter network across the major models and the human tiers, scores it, and writes the findings.
- You receive the signed report. Directional, prioritized, and yours to keep, whatever you decide to do next.
Brand Interpretation Assessment
When to run one
The BIA is built for CEOs, CMOs, and board-level leadership, and it earns its keep most at moments of strategic change:
- Post-pivot. You changed the strategy; the network may still be selling the old one.
- Pre-scale. Volume on a confused signal accelerates how fast you are misunderstood. Check the signal before you buy reach.
- Ahead of M&A or fundraising. AI-assisted diligence reads you before the data room opens. Know what it reads.
- Category expansion. New market, existing interpretation. The machines will place you where the old signals point.
And if the symptoms are already here (sales calls that open with corrections, candidates describing a company you outgrew, comparisons against peers you never chose), the map explains why.
Brand Interpretation Assessment
What the BIA is not
Not a vanity score. It surfaces network conditions that materially affect growth, efficiency, and strategic execution.
Not an SEO audit. Rankings measure whether you are found. The BIA measures whether you are understood.
Not a sales document. Sometimes the machine is right. The report distinguishes interpretation gaps (the network says something untrue or outdated) from substance gaps (the network accurately reports a real weakness). The first is architecture work. The second is operations work, and we will say so.
Frequently asked questions
Is the BIA a sales pitch?
No. The report arrives signed, with no pitch and no obligation attached. What you do with it is your call. If you choose to act, the full Interpreter Architecture engagement (Map, Design, Build, Protect) is the path, and the BIA already completed the first phase.
What do you need from us?
Organization name, work email, role. No CMS access, no analytics, no internal documents. The point is to see you the way the outside world does.
How is this different from an AI-visibility report?
Visibility tools count mentions. The BIA maps the full interpreter network, human and machine, scores it against ACES, separates interpretation gaps from substance gaps, and hands you a prioritized fix order.
What if the models barely mention us?
Then the report establishes your absence baseline, and the work inverts: nothing to retire, nothing to untangle, everything to build, structured correctly from day one. That is the one advantage unknown organizations hold over established competitors.
